Fall Fun in the Philadelphia Area

Posted by Copper Hill on Wed, Oct 13, '21

How sweet it is to be out of our houses again!

If you’re anything like us, you love exploring new cuisines, cultures, and celebrations around Philadelphia. You don’t need an excuse to come out and try something new this fall, because we’ve got you covered. Whether you’re into street festivals or new shows, there’s something for everyone this fall in Philadelphia.

Pumpkinland at Linvilla Orchards

137 W. Knowlton Rd, Media; Runs through 11/7

Picking pumpkins (and posting about it on Instagram) is one of the most popular fall traditions around this part of the country. Lucky for us, the iconic Linvilla Orchards has, among many other fun attractions, a sprawling pumpkin patch and over one hundred tons of pumpkins on display! While you’re there, check out the harvest hayride, corn maze, and apple blasters! Tickets are required for entry and hours vary; check with Linvilla Orchards for specific information.

Halloween Nights at Eastern State Penitentiary

2207 Fairmount Avenue, Philadelphia; Runs through 11/13

The classic Philadelphia Halloween excursion is back and better than ever after a one year hiatus. This time, however, there’s a spooky tour and a non-spooky tour. With this choice, Eastern State Penitentiary is a great place to come with children. With fifteen attractions, four themed bars, and a laser light show most nights, there’s lots of fun to be had at the Penitentiary.

Philadelphia Film Festival

Various Locations including Philadelphia Film Center; Runs October 21-31

Calling all movie lovers, this one’s for you! The 30th annual Philadelphia Film Festival is back and better than ever. Running for eleven days and showcasing over one hundred independent films across various genres and styles. With a spotlight on international films, this festival is a must-attend for the worldly cinephile. Viewers will take in feature length films, shorts, animations, and hear from panelists and special guests.

Peddler’s Village Apple Festival

100 Peddler’s Village, New Hope; Runs November 6-7

If you despise apples, this one might not be for you. For literally everyone else, there’s a lot of fun to be had here! Peddler’s Village is a wonderful place at all times of the year, but the harvest season brings a new feeling of magic to the air. The Apple Festival is the best spot to grab anything apples; that means apple butter, apple cider, apple fritters, apple dumplings, caramel apples, and more. You can even pre-order your very own apple pie! Check in with Peddler’s Village for specific information regarding admission and parking.
