Picking pumpkins (and posting about it on Instagram) is one of the most popular fall traditions around this part of the country. Lucky for us, the iconic Linvilla Orchards has, among many other fun attractions, a sprawling pumpkin patch and over one hundred tons of pumpkins on display! While you’re there, check out the harvest hayride, corn maze, and apple blasters! Tickets are required for entry and hours vary; check with Linvilla Orchards for specific information.

Halloween Nights at Eastern State Penitentiary

2207 Fairmount Avenue, Philadelphia; Runs through 11/13

The classic Philadelphia Halloween excursion is back and better than ever after a one year hiatus. This time, however, there’s a spooky tour and a non-spooky tour. With this choice, Eastern State Penitentiary is a great place to come with children. With fifteen attractions, four themed bars, and a laser light show most nights, there’s lots of fun to be had at the Penitentiary.
